About ICAC

An institution for Indo‑Canadian cultural exchange.

Indo‑Canada Arts Council develops and supports cultural platforms · rather than presenting itself merely as an event organiser.

Who We Are

Indo‑Canada Arts Council is a federally incorporated, not‑for‑profit Canada corporation, run by a volunteer board of directors. Our core activities promote arts and culture between Canada and India through community festivals, musical concerts, seminars and cultural events.

Our endeavours are focused on connecting communities to their roots and culturally rich heritage · by way of celebrations, and by coming together as one large family. We bring artists of both countries onto a common platform to share their talent and promote artistic and cultural display.

Our Purpose

ICAC exists to build awareness and exchange of artists and artistic works between Canada and India, and to recognize and appreciate talent from both countries · functioning as a central force for arts and artistic exchange, compiling directories of artists and organisations, and encouraging young and new artists to present their work.

Our Work

Our main initiative, Canada Diwali RazzMatazz, is the largest free Diwali festival in Canada, hosted at Mississauga Celebration Square since 2014. We have also initiated cultural and classical performances by artists in other provinces and smaller towns across Canada, organised the International Day of Yoga at Queen Victoria Park, Niagara Falls (2016), and continue to develop programming across literature, cinema, music, food and artist presentation · including Cultural Missions that bring international artists to Canadian audiences.

Our Approach

Rather than running every idea as a one‑off event, ICAC builds durable cultural platforms · festivals and programmes that return year after year, develop their own identity, and can grow independently under the ICAC umbrella. Some of these initiatives maintain their own dedicated websites; others live here, within icacouncil.com.
